Shelley, Jr., 65, of the Bakers Chapel section of Horry County died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2003 in Conway Medical Center. Mr. Shelley was born in Horry County, a son of the late George Brice Shelley, Sr. and Lucille Parker Shelley. Mr. Shelley was pre-deceased by a brother, Windel Shelley. He was a member of Bakers Chapel Baptist Church. Mr. Shelley was a former Policeman serving a combined total of 15 years with the North Myrtle Beach Police Department, Horry County Police Department and Myrtle Beach Police Department. He was the Policeman of the Year in 1969 with Myrtle Beach Police Department. He was also active in the coaching of youth sports at the Myrtle Beach Recreation Department and was a former Coach of the Year. Surviving are his wife, Mary Frances Hardwick Shelley of Aynor; five sons, Brice Shelley and his wife, Billie Jean Shelley, and Heath Shelley and his wife, Shana, all of Myrtle Beach, Hardwick Shelley and his wife, Dawn B. Shelley, and Chris Shelley and his wife, Amanda Shelley, all of Aynor, and Kent Shelley and his wife, Wendy Shelley of Conway; two daughters, Teresa S. Brazier and her husband, Mike Brazier of Conway and Mary Leigh Shelley of Aynor; two brothers, Jimmy Shelley and Stancil Shelley, both of Aynor; 12 grandchildren, Shelley Brazier, Ross Brazier. Brice Shelley, Tanner Shelley, Ashley Shelley, Morgan Shelley, Madison Shelley, Heath Shelley, Heather Shelley, Aaron Shelley, Brooke Shelley, and Parker Shelley. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday from Goldfinch Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lamar Squires and Rev. Tom Swilley officiating. Burial will follow in Aynor Cemetery.
