Burrack and Meta Knee Siefkes. Baptized in infancy, he was confirmed in the Lutheran church at Refshalt, East Frisia. In 1882 he came from Germany to the neighborhood of Monticello, Jones county. Burrack and Meta Knee Siefkes. Baptized in infancy, he was confirmed in the Lutheran church at Refshalt, East Frisia. In 1882 he came from Germany to the neighborhood of Monticello, Jones county. Here he was married to Meta Nordman in the Wayne township Lutheran church by Rev. C. Mardorf on Feb. 21, 1889. In 1898 they went to Fayette county and farmed different places near Arlington, finally acquiring the farm about five miles west of Strawberry Point on which they have lived for the last 25 years Their union was blessed with three children, two daughters and one son. The daughters are Margaret, who was married to John Weger but died about 30 years ago and Anna, who married Charles Wiltse of Strawberry Point. The son, John, always stayed at home with his parents. Friday afternoon, June 21, about 4 o'clock Mr. Burrack left the house and crossed the highway to get his mail, and returning a truck obscured his vision and not noticing the car following, he stepped into the path of an automobile and was killed instantly. he had attained an age of 74 years five months and seven days. He is survived by his wife and three children, two grandchildren, and two great grandchildren; also by two brothers. Mr. Burrack was of a quiet disposition attending to his own affairs but always willing to help whenever asked to do so. He was a lifelong member of the Lutheran church. At first he joined the church is St. Sebold and then the Emanuel's Lutheran church at Strawberry Point. Many are the relatives and friends who deplore the accident which took him away from their side so suddenly and whose sympathy is with the bereaved in this sad hour.
