Married Lena Launer on August 24, 1919. ~~~~~~ Fremont Evening Tribune, May 5, 1922, p. 3, col. 1 FREMONT MAN DIES OF BAD INJURIES George Klare Fatally Hurt in Minneapolis ___ George Klare, 32, died Wednesday at his home in Minneapolis, as a result of an accident April 28. Klare lived the greater part of his life here and was well known among Fremont people. While riding a motorcycle to work last Friday morning, Klare collided with a six-ton truck and was badly injured. He was not expected to recover, but he held on, fighting for life until the last minute. Born in Pueblo, Colo., Klare came to Fremont with his father at an early age. He went to school here until he was 17, staying at the Lutheran orphanage with his brother and sisters after his mother died. The deceased first worked as a brakeman for the M. & St. L railroad and later as brakeman for the Oregon Short Line road. During this time he lived away from Fremont, but he returned and worked here for the North Western road. At one time Klare was in the bicycle business with John C. Launer. He then joined the army and was sent to the government auto training school at Lincoln. Later he went to a southern training camp. He did not get to go overseas in spite of the fact that he was one of the first to join the army at the outbreak of the war. He married Miss Lena Launer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Launer, in 1920. They had one child, a boy, born April 17, 1922. For the past two years he had been employed as switchman at the M. & St. L., and had lived at Minneapolis, Minn. Besides the wife and child he is survived by a brother, William Klare, Fremont, and two sisters, Mrs. Clara Harrington, Fremont, and Mrs. John Launer, Jr.,, Council Bluffs, Ia. The body arrived in Fremont this morning for burial. ___ p. 6, col. 6 Klare Funeral – The funeral o f George C. Klare will be held Sunday afternoon. At 1:30, relatives will assemble at Bader’s parlor for short services. At 2 o’clock Rev. Phillip Lange will officiate at the Trinity Lutheran church, corner Third and C streets.
