He was born March 7, 1915, in Marion County, a son of the late Leroy and Claudia Brown White. He was a retired farmer and woodworker. He also worked with Export Tobacco Co. He was a Mason and a member of Demascus Lodge No. 161. He was a past member of Wahee Hunting Club. He was a member of Mullins First Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Angler's Sunday school class. Survivors include his wife, Lorine Atkinson James White; a son, George C. ``G.C.'' White Jr. of Mullins; two daughters, Peggy W. Dunn of Rock Hill and Ann W. Ammons of Marion; five grandchildren, Kimberly A. Wilson of Marion, Wendy D. Carter of Rock Hill, and Dana A. Thigpen, Shelley M. White, and Ryan M. White, all of Mullins; five great-grandchildren, Bryant Wilson and Caroline Wilson, both of Marion, Hannah Thigpen, Andrew Thigpen, both of Mullins, and Paul M. Carter of Rock HIll; a sister, Francena W. Jackson of Dillon; three stepchildren, Ervin James and Sylvia Bauer, both of Charlotte, N.C., and Faye Brown of Conway; and four step-grandchildren, Cindy James, Bryan James, and Rodney Sawyer, all of Charlotte, and Cameron Brown of Conway. He was predeceased by his first wife, Alene Shelley White; a granddaughter, Sharon L. Ammons; three brothers, Albert White, Robert White and Joe White; and a sister, Sara Dew. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight at Cox-Collins Funeral Home in Mullins. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Kenneth Sandifer will officiate. Burial will be in Cedardale Cemetery, with Masonic rites. Memorials may be made to Mullins First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 443, Mullins, SC 29574.
