Wright Held Saturday--Death Came in Norfolk Hospital at Age 84.-- >George Dennis Wright was born in Smythe co., Virginia, March 12, 1854, and died in Norfolk, Nebraska, April 1, 1938, at age 84 years, 19 days. >He was married Nov. 17, 1879 to Virginia Ellen Steffey of Rural Retreat, Virginia. The couple resided in Missouri for a few years then came to Nebraska in 1889, locating on a farm southwest of Battle Creek, where they lived until retirement in 1920. They then purchased a home in town. He was a member of the United Brethren church. >Funeral services for Mr. Wright, a fifty year resident of the Battle Creek community, were held at the Methodist church at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon, Rev. G. L. Deik, Meadow Grove, in charge. Burial was in Union cemetery beside the wife and mother who died July 20, 1932. >Ten children, four sons and six daughters survive: Con and Rex of Battle Creek, Garland of Meadow Grove and Hollis of Tilden. The daughters are: Mrs. L. H. Hale, Glenrock, Wyoming; Mrs. C. A. Hamilton, Beatrice, Neb.; Mrs. Carl Daniel, Meadow Grove, and Mrs. Hayes Miller and Misses Laura and Gertrude of Battle Creek
