Description	:	Son of Henry and Nettie Chipps Brown, was born Feb. 13, 1905, on a farm north of Sartoria. He got his schooling in Dist. 116. As a youth he attended Sunday School in the schoolhouse just north of Sartoria till the Pleasant Valley Church was built and services were held there. He was baptized in the Loup River near Sartoria by Rev. R.A. Giles. On Oct. 18, 1931, he renewed his baptismal vows by rite of confirmation in St. Paul's Lutheran Church north of Riverdale, Nebr. He was united in marriage to Therese Carmann, Feb. 10, 1932, in Zion Lutheran Church in Kearney, Neb. with Rev. E.O. Potratz officiating. They were blessed with four children -- Faye (Mrs. Robert Allen) at Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Wayne O. Brown at Hazard, Treva (Mrs. John Guthard) at Litchfield and Cheryl (Mrs. Terry Ansbach) at Kearney; 18 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandchildren. George was a farmer at heart, farming in Pleasant Valley 13 years before moving to a farm in the Divide community north of Riverdale. He retired from active farming the spring of 1970. Following four weeks of hospitalization in Kearney Good Samaritan Hospital. God in his mercy took him to his eternal home April 10, 1981, at the age of 76 years 1 month and 28 days. He leaves to mourn his passing his family, his brother, Dell E. Brown and his wife, Mildred in Kearney; three nephews, Darrell Brown, Jackie Brown, Verle Brown and their families, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, a half brother, Otis Brown, his brother Joe and sister-in-law, Vida Brown. Services were conducted from Grace Lutheran Church at Pleasanton, Nebr., Monday April 13, 1981, Pastor John Peterson officiating. Final resting place Pleasant Valley Cemetery, northwest of Pleasanton, Neb., in Buffalo County. Pallbearers were Stanely Schake, Darold Davel, Lee Rodehorst, Leroy A. Lammers, Deane Hodwiger and Harold Duake.
