Description	:	George was born November 18, 1884 in Lansing, Kansas . He lived most of his life in Montana, homesteading in Wheaton County about 1909. He married Rose Skeen in Judith Gap, Montana in 1913. Their first child was a daughter whom they named Georgia Rose. When she was about to be born, George hitched the horses to a sled to meet the train to pick up the doctor. The sled tipped over and George broke his arm. He lived most of his life in Montana, homesteading in Wheaton County about 1909. He married Rose Skeen in Judith Gap, Montana in 1913. Their first child was a daughter whom they named Georgia Rose. When she was about to be born, George hitched the horses to a sled to meet the train to pick up the doctor. The sled tipped over and George broke his arm. By the time he and the doctor got to his home, the baby had already arrived. Grandma Sarah Skeen had delivered her. Their second and last child was their son Warren. George's wife died at the age of 34. George took his children to be raised by his wife's brother, Oscar. In the summers he had his son Warren with him. His daughter recalls when she was a young girl about five years old riding a corn planter with her father. He abruptly stopped the machine and reached over to remove her dress, which had become wrapped in the machine. Another turn and she would have been pulled in. He directed the first Mercantile Company and first bank in the Judith area. He was high in the Masonic orders. He divided his time between Kalispell, Ellensburg and Puyallup, Washington the last ten years before his death. In ill health for three years, George died at the home of his daughter, Georgia Rose Stickney, in Puyallup, Washington in 1958. Kidder, 73, father of Warren Kidder of Ellensburg, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Fred (Georgia) Stickney at Puyallup Wednesday. He had been in ill health for the past three years. He was born in Topeka, Kan., Nov. 18, 1884, and was married to Rose Skeen in 1913. She preceded him in death in 1921. He lived most of his life in Montana, homesteading in Wheaton County, Mont., in about 1909. For the past few years he had made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Stickney in Puyallup and with his son, Warren. Surviving besides Mrs. Stickney and his son, Warren, are one sister, Mrs. Emma Flowers, Topeka, Kan., four grandchildren, Kenneth and Clifford Stickney, Puyallup, and Deanna and Darrel Kidder, Ellensburg and a number of nieces and nephews living in Kansas. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday morning at Puyallup and graveside services will be at 2 p.m. the same day in the Ellensburg IOOF Cemetery. Puyallup area papers: GEORGE D. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Fred (Georgia) Stickney of Puyallup; a son, Warren O. of Ellensburg; a sister, Mrs. Emma Flowers of Topeka, Kan. and four grandchildren. Services were held at 10 am. Saturday in the Wrigly-Clements Chapel with the Rev. Arthur Kirk officiating. Burial was in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Ellensburg where graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday. GEORGE D. KIDDER - George D.
