Description	:	George E. Boyer, 80, of Sterling, died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 1998 in Greeley. Visitation and viewing will be Sunday, Dec. 13, from 1 to 6 p.m. at Chaney-Walters Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 14, at Calvary Baptist Church, with the Rev. LeeRoy Pickering officiating. Graveside rites by B.P.O. Elks Lodge No. 1336 will be held at Riverside Cemetery following the funeral. Mr. Boyer was born on Jan, 17, 1918 in Macedonia, Iowa, to George and Mary (Jobe) Boyer. Mr. Boyer was born on Jan, 17, 1918 in Macedonia, Iowa, to George and Mary (Jobe) Boyer. He entered the U.S. Army in January 1942 and was disharged in October 1945. On Dec. 11, 1959 he married Dorothy McComas in Brush. He worked for Bills Motor Co. for 32 years before retiring in 1980, and then worked part-time for UPS and Hiskey Glass Shop. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, a life time member of B.P.O. Elks Lodge No. 1336, a member of the VFW Post 3541, and the AMA Flying Club. He enjoyed gardening, flying, hunting, and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Boyer, of Sterling; a brother, Laurence Boyer and wife Germaine of Sterling; a son, G. Delyn Houder and wife Jan of Houston, Texas; five daughters, Beverly Tait and husband Larry of Greeley, Joyce Huss and husband Gary of Holyoke, and from Sterling, Georgia Sanders and husband Robert, Gina Weingardt and husband Dan, and Holly Houder; 11 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Kathryn Heimbegner, and two brothers, Don Boyer:and Harold Boyer. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Elks National Foundation.
