Mr. Johnson was born December 15, 1941, in Conway, a son of the late George Edward Johnson, Sr., and Mary Elise Cusack Johnson-Owens. He was a retired auto-body repairman and was of the Pentecostal faith. He was survived by his mother of Hemingway; his wife, Beverly F. Johnson of Charleston; three sons, Richard "Rikki" E. Johnson and George Edward "Eddie" (Deborah) Johnson III, both of Georgetown, and Robert L. (Grippie) Lawson of Goose Creek; his friend and mother of his children, Betty L. Johnson of Prospect; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his father and a brother, Robert E. Johnson. Graveside services were 5:00 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2008, in Sampit United Methodist Church Cemetery. McKenzie Funeral Home was in charge.
