Description	:	George E. Mills, 80, a 78 year Wenatchee area resident, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2006, at his home, following an extended illness. He was born on June 13, 1926, at Hunters, Washington to the late Mark and Ellen Mae (Billington) Mills. He moved with his family to Wenatchee when he was two years old. He was raised and schooled in Wenatchee and graduated from Wenatchee High School. He entered the U.S. Navy and served during W.W.II in the South Pacific Theatre. Mills, 80, a 78 year Wenatchee area resident, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2006, at his home, following an extended illness. He was born on June 13, 1926, at Hunters, Washington to the late Mark and Ellen Mae (Billington) Mills. He moved with his family to Wenatchee when he was two years old. He was raised and schooled in Wenatchee and graduated from Wenatchee High School. He entered the U.S. Navy and served during W.W.II in the South Pacific Theatre. Upon receiving his honorable discharge, he returned to Wenatchee. He had met Betty L. Dorage, of Wenatchee, while serving in the Navy, stationed at San Francisco, CA. They were later married on October 10, 1947, at Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. They made their home together in Wenatchee. George went to work for Safeway and became an Assistant Manager. When ALCOA started production in 1952, he began working as a Sheet Metal Fabricator and continued working there for 34 years before retiring in 1986. They moved to make their home in East Wenatchee in 1971. George was and avid golfer and liked his flower gardens in his yard. He was a member of the G.I.R.O. Friendship Club. He is survived by his wife, Betty L. Mills, East Wenatchee; one son and daughter-in-law, Mark R. and Leona Mills, East Wenatchee; one brother, Roy L. Mills, Wilson Creek, WA; one sister, Doris Mae Cannon, Seattle; six grandchildren, Carl Potter, Christopher Casey and Stephanie Mills all of Wenatchee and Melanie Harvey, Tiffany Mills and Tyson Mills all of East Wenatchee; six great-grandchildren, Casey Helmer, Portland, OR., Libbie Baysinger, East Wenatchee, Ethan Garras, Chloe Sage and Phoebe Potter all of Wenatchee and Charles Casey of Oregon. He was preceded in death by his parents; twin daughters, Helena Peterson and Georgina Kvalheim; one brother, Keith Mills; and one grandson, Shane Kvalheim. Commemoration Services will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. in the Mausoleum Chapel at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in East Wenatchee with Chaplain Jamie Wilhite officiating. Niche Inurnment will follow the services. Friends who wish may make memorial donations in his name to the American Diabetes Association or the Kidney Foundation. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
