Description	:	GEORGE EDWARDS George Edwards was born September 11, 1848, in McClain County Ill., and died May 9, 1937, at his home in Pawnee City, at the age of 89 Years, 5 months, 9 days. He spent his early childhood in Illinois and moved with his parents to Pawnee county at the age of nine years, and lived in a log house on a farm four miles south of Pawnee City. Read More	GEORGE EDWARDS George Edwards was born September 11, 1848, in McClain County Ill., and died May 9, 1937, at his home in Pawnee City, at the age of 89 Years, 5 months, 9 days. He spent his early childhood in Illinois and moved with his parents to Pawnee county at the age of nine years, and lived in a log house on a farm four miles south of Pawnee City. Later he made his home near old Cincinnati for severl years and then moved to Pawnee City, where he since resided. October 8, 1880, he was united in marriage to Lois Wade Edwards of Pawnee City and to this union where born five children, all of whom survive him: Mrs. L.D. Tibbetts of Falls City, Nebr., Mrs. C.H. Cornell of Sioux City, Ia., Mrs. Glen Reynolds and Chas. Edwards of Pawnee City, and Guy Edwards of Dawson, Nebr. He also leaves one brother, David Edwards of Lincoln, Nebr., six grand-children and two step-children, Mrs. Mary Perry of Lexington, Ill., and Martin Edwards of Topeka, Kas. Being one of the early pioneers, he saw Pawnee City grow from one or two store buildings and only a few dwellings, and helped erect almost every business building in the town. He was a kind a loving husband and father, always giving first thought to his family, and willing at all times to lend a helping hand to a friend in need. The funeral services was held at Wherry's chapel Tuesday afternoon, Rev. W.N. Wallis officiating. Burial was in the Pawnee City cemetery.
