Bud was born in Grande Prairie to parents, George and Gladys Stephen. He was raised on the farm southwest of Grande .Prairie. Bud worked for a time at his fathers mill. Later he moved to Turner Valley (actually it should be Drayton Valley) Alberta for a few years. In 1956 Bud made his way up north, ending up at Upper Liard, Yukon. He worked at numerous jobs-welder, mill worker and heavy equipment operator. Eventually Bud had his own mill near his home in Upper Liard, which he ran util his illness in august 2002. Bud was predeceased by his father George in 1971; mother Gladys in 1995; and his sister Mary Kilgour in 1999. Left to mourn, sister Margaret (Garth) Walker of Richmond, B.C.; son Chuck Stephen Walker (Roma) Lower Post, .B.C.; son Eugene Frank (Cheryl) Fairview, Alberta' grandsons Travis and Troy and any nieces and nephewrs. All who knew Bud will always remember him as being friendly, generous and a pioneer of this country. He will be sadly missed and not forgotten. Bud's remains will find their final resting place in the Grande Prairie Cemetery.
