Description	:	George Edwin Gould was the son of David and Annie Bethel Gould. --Indiana Death Certificates, 1899-2011 ========== George E. Gould, 90, a Purdue University professor emeritus, died at 5 AM Monday, May 22, 1995, in Westminster Village. Born April 22, 1905, at Concordia, KS, he graduated from Concordia High School. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Kansas and his doctorate from Purdue University. Prof. Gould was professor of entomology at Purdue from 1931 until his retirement in 1973. He previously was associated with the Virginia Truck Experiment Station in Norfolk, VA. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Kansas and his doctorate from Purdue University. Prof. Gould was professor of entomology at Purdue from 1931 until his retirement in 1973. He previously was associated with the Virginia Truck Experiment Station in Norfolk, VA. He married Thelma Irene Blunk in 1929, and she died in 1973. On Nov. 4, 1973, he married Nelda Gertrude Rhyan in Alexandria, IN; she died Nov. 14, 1985. He was a 50-year member of the Lafayette Optimist Club and a member of the Entomology Society of America, Sigma Xi fraternity, the International Pest Control Association, the Indiana Academy of Science, and the Indiana Covered Bridge Society. In 1977, he authored "Indiana Covered Bridges Through the Years". Prof. Gould was an honorary member of the Indiana Pest Control Association and was honored with a Sagamore of the Wabash award in 1986. Survivors include a stepdaughter, Joy (Mrs. Richard) Zarse of Alexandria; two stepsons, John Summers of Brazil, IN, and Harold Summers of Lafayette; and three brothers, Ralph Gould of Sarasota, FL, Karl Gould of Sacramento, CA, and John Gould of Green Bay, WI.
