BUOY George Elmer Buoy, son of Nathaniel E. and Mary Buoy, was born near Bethlehem, Wayne county, Iowa, June 3, 1866, and passed away at his home in Millerton, Iowa, July 4, 1934, following a long illness, aged 68 years, 1 month and 1 day. Funeral services were held in the Methodist church at Millerton, Friday morning at 11 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. J. B. Johnson, pastor of the Methodist church at Corydon. Burial was in the Confidence cemetery. On January 24, 1894, he was united in marriage to Myrtle B. Hindman and to this union five children were born: Mrs. Eva Frame, of Confidence, Iowa; Mrs. Georgia Scott, who preceded him in death on October 4, 1924, Mrs. May Sheets, of Bethlehem, Iowa; Mrs. Mary Perkins and George Jr., of Millerton. He leaves to mourn their loss his wife and children; six grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Mary Torkleson, of Mystic, Iowa; two brothers, William Hymen, of Bethlehem, and Wilbur N., of Corydon; and a host of relatives and friends. At the age of ten years he united with the M. E. church at Confidence and continued in active service for his Master until the time of his illness. He was a man of high moral character and strict business integrity. He was always for the uplifting of anything good in his community and had the respect of all his acquaintances. In 1920 he left his farm near Bethlehem and moved to Millerton where he engaged in the mercantile business and became postmaster at that place, continuing until the time of his illness. He was a devoted husband and a loving and indulgent father and will be missed by all who knew him.
