Read More	Aged 60 years 3 months 9 days The Courant - March 30, 1882 Mr. George Estey Died - At Union Center, Elk County, Kansas, on March 11th, 1882, of pneumonia, and congestion of the bowels, George Estey, aged 60 years, 3 months, and 9 days. Mr. Estey was born in New Brunswick, December 2nd, 1821, his parents emigrating to Miami county, Ohio, in 1822, where he lived until 22 years of age, when he went to California, remaining thirteen years working in the mines, during which time he met with the sad misfortune of the loss of his right arm, after that he returned to Missouri where he married Sarah J. Nett, in May 1868. He came to Elk county, Kansas in 1873, purchased a farm on Elk river, where he resided up to the time of his death. Mr. Estey died in the full triumph of faith in Christ, leaving a widow, two sons, and two daughters to mourn the death of an affectionate and loving husband and father. And we all feel that we have lost a kind neighbor and a good citizen. Brother Estey was united with the Regular Baptist Church in 1868 and on the 13th day of March 1882, his remains were followed to the Howard Cemetery by a large concourse of sympathizing friends. Funeral services were held at Union Center school house, March 26th, 1882. Isa.38, 1st verse: "Set thy house in order, for thou shalt die and not live."
