Description	:	George Everts, son of Harmon and Rencha Everts, was born in Chase County, Nebraska, November 24, 1890. He was brought to the Lord in baptism December 16, 1890. With his family, he moved to Fillmore County in 1896. There he attended the Christian day school until his confirmation in 1905 in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church south of Grafton by Pastor C. E. Berg. Read More	George Everts, son of Harmon and Rencha Everts, was born in Chase County, Nebraska, November 24, 1890. He was brought to the Lord in baptism December 16, 1890. With his family, he moved to Fillmore County in 1896. There he attended the Christian day school until his confirmation in 1905 in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church south of Grafton by Pastor C. E. Berg. In the year 1913 he was united in marriage with Miss Minnie Domeier. The Lord blessed this union with three children, one son and two daughters. He devoted almost his entire life to farming in Fillmore County. In August, 1949, he moved to Geneva. He was one of the charter members of Grace Lutheran Church when it was organized and served as one of the elders ever since its beginning. After a long illness, caused by an attack of virus pneumonia which affected his heart, the Lord quietly called him Friday morning, July 13, 1951, at 7:30 a.m. Left to mourn his loss are his sorrowing widow; three children, Laverna Everts at home, Herman Everts of Grafton and Mrs. Videl Oates of Fairmont; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Herman Everts; a son-in-law, Warren Oates; six grandchildren, James, Miriam, Richard, Steven and Edward Everts and Patricia Oates; two brothers, Reinhardt Everts of Sutton and John Everts of Grafton; two sisters, Mrs. Mayme Domeier of Sutton, and Mrs. Anna Baumann of Grafton; many other relatives and friends. His parents, a sister, Mrs. Minnie Wietzke and two brothers, Henry and William preceded him in death. He was a kind Christian husband and father, who delighted in the work of the Lord, and in Christian fortitude accepted whatever the Lord sent him of joy and sorrow, believing firmly that Christ made atonement for all his sins and that to those who love God, all things must work together for good. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at Grace Lutheran Church in Geneva, conducted by Pastor A. B. Habben of Hastings. Mrs. Rex Philippi, Miss Helen Riel, W. A. Hallman and Theo H. Philippi sang “What a Friend We have in Jesus, “ and “Asleep in Jesus.” The pallbearers were Marvin Asseln, R. G. Buchmeier, D. W. Gehrke, Delfs W. Gehrke, W. A. Hallman and Paul A. Sanders. Interment was in the Geneva Cemetery. The Nebraska Signal July 19th, 1951 page 1 & 8.
