Description	:	George F., son of Louis J. and Lillian Charlotte Wilhelmina Shermer Holste, was born December 2, 1917 in Victoria Township. He died July 2, 1982 at St Joseph Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. He worked a number of years as a mechanic for Neil Yarger in Massena before entering farming, which was his lifelong interest and livelihood. On August 23, 1943, he married Della Marie Nelson, daughter of Charles Nelson and Marie Pieken Nelson at Maryville, Missouri. She attended classes at the #1 McDirmid School and graduated from Massena High School in 1942. George and Della were members of St. Peters U. C. C. and were the parents of tow sons, both graduates of C & M High School. Louis J. was born September 6, 1944. He married Rose E. Casey. They own and operate the family farm in Victoria Township, where they live with their four daughters: Susan Lynn, Della Ann, Alice Christine, and Ann Marie. Barry F. Holste was born August 24, 1948. After graduation from Commercial Extension in Omaha, Nebraska, Barry was employed by Neuman Equipment in Omaha. He served three years with the United States Army during which he was stationed in Europe. After his discharge from the service, he returned to live in Omaha to work at Neuman Equipment where he is currently employed. On June 12, 1970, George F. Holste married Genevieve (Gen) Hall at St. Peters U. C. C. south of Massena. She is the daughter of Lewis and Rose Cherveny Hall. Gen was born February 27, 1918 in Toledo, Iowa. She graduated from the Toledo High School and was employed as a secretary-bookkeeper for several businesses during her career, most recently at the Massena Co-op. Gen continues to reside on the farm where she and George lived in Victoria Township.
