Description	:	Our Grand Uncle George was not a remarkable man. He was the oldest of 3 sons, but a middle child out of 7 total. He had 4 sisters, the youngest of which was my Grandmother Caroline Buhring. He was listed as a farm laborer for his parents in the 1900 US Census. Then, we have not been able to find him or what he was doing in the 1910 or 1920 ones. His sister Caroline was homesteading with first husband George Junk in Colorado at this time. He was listed as a farm laborer for his parents in the 1900 US Census. Then, we have not been able to find him or what he was doing in the 1910 or 1920 ones. His sister Caroline was homesteading with first husband George Junk in Colorado at this time. My Father Robert Buhring Junk was born in Arriba, Lincoln Co., CO., 24 Sept 1916. Caroline & George Buhring's brother Henry was also homesteading with wife Fay in Arriba, Lincoln Co., CO., at this time. All 3 men got their WW I Draft Registration notices from Lincoln County, Colorado in 1917. George Buhring's Draft Card stated he was a Miner, but not employed. George Junk & Henry Buhring were Farmers. We do not know the exact location of the Homesteads, i.e. their proximity; but believe they must have helped each other. George first married in his 40's to Mabel who died within 6 years in 1933. Next, he married in his late 50's to Gean Gremon who died within 8 or 9 years in 1949. Finally, he married Lenora who died before him in 1964. He never had children of his own. But, he assisted his sister Caroline and her sons, Robert and Orval, during her financial hard times in the 1920's & 1930's. By the 1930 US Census, George was listed as a Farmer. He lived in a little, snug house heated by a wood stove in the kitchen; where it was joked, he wanted his wives to cook him pancakes every morning on that stove. And that's what wore them out. The outstanding thing about Grand Uncle George had to be his compassion & kindness. Also, a great sense of humor. He did love the ladies, good food & schnappes. I'm not sure who arranged it, but all his wives have a place on his Headstone. JT
