Petermann, 69, of 315 Arrison died June 26, 1989, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center, 1001 E. Pennsylvania. He was born Sept. 21, 1919, in Sioux City to George and Marie Freudensprung Petermann. A resident of Ottumwa most of his life, he had been an employee of Job Service of Iowa and retired from Ottumwa Post Office. He was a graduate of Ottumwa High School and served in World War II with the Army. He was a member of First Lutheran Church, O.B. Nelson Post 3 of the American Legion and Walter B. Schafer Post 775 Veterans of Foreign Wars. He married Hester Ballard; she preceded him in death. He married Pearl Mason; she died Feb. 4, 1988. He is survived by two brothers, Milton and Bob Petermann of Panama City, Fla. The service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home, with Dr. Ralph Anderson of First Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. Visitation is open.
