Description	:	George F. Gleue, Burlington, Kan., died Dec. 29, 2005, at his home. He was 89. He was born Aug. 16, 1916, at Lawton, Okla., the son of George and Elise "Lizzie" True Gleue. He moved to a farm northeast of LeRoy when he was two years old. He lived at LeRoy where he worked as an electrician and started G & G Electric. He was born Aug. 16, 1916, at Lawton, Okla., the son of George and Elise "Lizzie" True Gleue. He moved to a farm northeast of LeRoy when he was two years old. He lived at LeRoy where he worked as an electrician and started G & G Electric. His family and his company moved to Burlington in 1968. In 1975, he was in charge of the electricians at the Wolf Creek Nuclear Power Plant until his retirement in 1984. He had served on both the LeRoy and Burlington City Councils. He was confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Aliceville where he had held several offices; he then became a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Burlington. He married Edna Pearl Franklin Oct. 5, 1952 in Burlington. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Lorena Rolf; and a brother, Arnold Gleue. Survivors include his wife, Edna Gleue, Burlington; two daughters, Gretchen Gleue-Woody and her husband Elgin III, Topeka, and Tana Gleue Ayre and her husband Rick, Ramona, Okla.; five grandchildren, Eli, Elise, and Elliott Woody, Topeka, Alex Ayre, Kansas City, and Nicholas Ayre, Lawrence. Services were held this morning, Jan. 3, at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Burlington. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery, Burlington. Jones Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or the charity of the donor's choice. [Published in The Coffey County Republican, Jan. 3, 2006]
