Thayer St., was taken ill after work Saturday evening and was taken to a local hospital Monday morning, but efforts to save his life failed. Mr. Griffin was born at Monona, Ia., Dec. 10, 1877 and was married to Miss Elizabeth Havelicek at Elkator, Ia., Sept. 2, 1909. Besides his widow he leaves four children, Frances, 22; Catherine, 19; Raymond, 12; and Irene, 9. All living at home. He also leaves four sisters and one brother. They are Mrs. Roy Campbell, Marquette, Ia.; Mrs. Helen Gilbert and Mrs. Irene Smith, Des Moines; Mrs. Lew Englehart, Tuana, Ia., and Matt Griffin, Hollywood, Calif. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Pro-cathedral and burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery.
