He was a trainman on the Union Pacific and had been in good health up to Wednesday of last week, when he came in off his run feeling ill. Thursday afternoon he sank into unconsciousness and remained so until his death. His wife telegraphed the relatives here and Mr. and Mrs. Blanchard and Mr. Foster went out at once and arrived there about an hour before his death. The remains were brought to Boone, arriving here in the noon train Monday. The remains were taken to the Foster home. The funeral party was accompanied to Boone by Messrs Hubbart and Bogue of the B. of R.T. of North Platte, who remained until after the burial. The funeral services were held from the Foster home at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon conducted by the Revs' A.H. Collins and S.M. Wilcox and attended by a large concourse of sorrowing friends and former fellow employees on the Northwestern here, burial in East Linwood. George H. Blanchard was born in Clinton Oct. 24, 1881 and was just past 26 years of age at the time of his death. He came to Boone with his parents about twelve years ago, attended the public schools for a time and later entered the employ of the Northwestern company. About five years ago he changed to the Union Pacific, with headquarters at North Platte, and remained with that company until his death. He was a faithful employee and always commanded the esteem and confidence both of the officials and his --. He was united in marriage with Miss Bertha Foster and she with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Foster, his parents Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Blanchard, three brothers, Bert, Roy and Glenn, and two sisters, May and Ruth, are left to mourn his untimely death, and are given the sincere sympathy of a wide circle of friends. He was an earnest member of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen and that order had charge of the funeral Tuesday afternoon.
