Morris, a resident of the county for fifty years, died at his home on North Franklin street Thursday afternoon, July 14, 1932, following an illness for some duration. Leaves Wife and Children. Funeral Sunday. George H. Morris, a resident of the county for fifty years, died at his home on North Franklin street Thursday afternoon, July 14, 1932, following an illness for some duration. Heart disease was the cause of Mr. Morris' death. Funeral services were held at the home Sunday at 1:30, and at the Methodist church at 2:00 o'clock. Rev. E. D. Wells, pastor of the church, had charge of the services. Burial was made in the Earlville cemetery. Mr. Morris was born in England, May 6, 1851, and when 19 years of age he came to the United States with an uncle to seek his fortune in the new land. He first located at Cleveland, Ohio, where he lived for ten years. From Cleveland he came directly to Delaware county to engage in farming. He was united in marriage with Miss Mary Robinson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Robinson of near Earlville. For many years Mr. Morris lived on a farm three miles east of Delhi, and in the spring of 1920 he and his family came to Manchester. Mr. Morris is survived by the widow, four daughters and two sons. The children are Mrs. Darl Hunt, and Bernie Morris of Earlville; Miss Celia Morris, Manchester; Harry Morris of Ryan; Mrs. Warren Brewer and Miss Ruby Morris of Waterloo. A son and a daughter died in early life. Mr. Morris was an man of upright character, and had been an ambitious and successful farmer. He was honorable in all of his dealing with his fellowmen, and was ever solicitious for the interests of those in his home.
