He attended Watertown High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1939, serving during WW II, and was honorably discharged. On Apr 15, 1945, he married Norma B. Currey at Watertown. He drove truck for South Dakota Concrete Products from 1945 to 1989. Later he drove for Arrow Truck Lines and Hamm's Beer Distributing. He was a member of St. Martin's Lutheran Church. He was an active member of the American Legion, V.F.W., D.A.V., and a life-member of Senior Citizens. He enjoyed watching cartoons with his grandson, Jacob, and talking on the phone with his granddaughter, Emily. He enjoyed visiting and going to McDonald's and the Senior Citizen Center. He also enjoyed watching football and baseball on TV. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma; and two daughters, Sherry Lynn Morris and Georgie Dombek. Survivors include three daughters, Betty (John) Sumpman and Sherri (Stacey) Rothenberger, all of Watertown, and Jackie (Chuck) Anderson of Fairfax, MN; two grandchildren; one brother, Roy (Lori) Morris of Grasston, MN; three sisters, Rea (Wayne) Quick of Parker, Wila Mae Cooper of Bryant, and Evelyn (Joe) Carmack of Paradise, CA; and a special friend of the family, Sandy Howard of Watertown.
