Mr. Saling was 57 years old. His death came after an illness of nearly two weeks, part of which time was spend in the Yokum hospital at Chariton. Read More	From the Allerton News Former Sheriff, Passes Away CORYDON BUSINESS MAN IS CALLED AFTER ILLNESS OF TWO WEEKS ____________ Corydon—George Saling, Corydon business man and former sheriff of Wayne county, died at his home here Sunday Afternoon at 2:30. Mr. Saling was 57 years old. His death came after an illness of nearly two weeks, part of which time was spend in the Yokum hospital at Chariton. Saling and his family came to Corydon about twenty-five years ago from Memphis, Mo., and established themselves in the meat business. He served the county as sheriff for a term, following which he was engaged as a stock buyer. Surviving are the wife, a daughter, Elizabeth, his mother, Mrs. Mary Saling, three sisters, Mrs. Lloyd Guinn, of Humeston, and two others in California and a brother, who also makes his home in California. He was preceded in death by his son, George, Jr., Olympic hurdler, who died in an automobile accident last April near Troy, Mo. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Methodist Episcopal church.
