Description	:	George Harold Staley, age 83, passed away April 18, 2007, from congestive heart failure. George and his twin brother Harry were the third born children to Eva Elizabeth (Ruff) and George Staley in Ballantine, on Sept, 13, 1923. Shortly thereafter, the family moved to Billings, where George lived on the family farm until he married. He attended the Elder Grove Elementary School on Hesper Road, and lived in Billings the rest of his life, with the exception of one year in Spokane, Wash. George and his twin brother Harry were the third born children to Eva Elizabeth (Ruff) and George Staley in Ballantine, on Sept, 13, 1923. Shortly thereafter, the family moved to Billings, where George lived on the family farm until he married. He attended the Elder Grove Elementary School on Hesper Road, and lived in Billings the rest of his life, with the exception of one year in Spokane, Wash. On June 12, 1942, George was united in marriage to Ethel Mann; a daughter and a son were born from this union. They were later divorced. George farmed west of Billings until 1951; after that, he worked for the Farmers Union GTA and BLM Tire Co. On May 4, 1968, George was united in marriage in Mary Long. After their marriage, they moved to Spokane, residing there for one year, moving back to Billings in 1969. In 1970, he went to work for the Yellowstone Boys & Girls Ranch, retiring in 1968 after 16 years. George's greatest loves were his family and his pets. He enjoyed gardening and working with flowers. He was a member of the Billings Elks Lodge for 28 years. Surviving is his wife Mary, of 39 years; daughter Karen (Hank) Glasser, of Billings; and son Tom (Sue) Staley, of Scottsdale, Ariz. He is also survived by six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, Beth (Glenn) Kutzera (Tony and Emily) and Steven (Amy) Popp (Katie, Nicholas and Lauren), of Vancouver, Wash., Caryl Price (Bradley, Cody, Casey and Payton), of Billings, Deena (Randy) Richter (Ashley), of Atlanta, Michelle (Dan) Borsum (Stephen, Morgan and Meagan), of Billings; and Paul (Arlis) Staley, of Auburn, Wash. He also leaves behind three sisters, Lillian Ostermiller, Helen Blackford and Evelyn (Harry) Funk; one sister-in-law, Billie (Don) Cecil, all of Billings; and numerous nieces and nephews. George is preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, three brothers-in-law, one sister-in-law and his twin brother Harry. Special thanks to Dr. Deric Weiss and the staff at Highgate Senior Living, especially to the caregivers Tracy, Richie, Angie, Laci, Tammy, Ashley, Joel, Joselynn, Elsa, Shelly and Jen for their loving attention and care given to George during his brief stay at Highgate. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, April 21, at Faith Chapel, 517 Shiloh Road, with burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
