Rev. D. Scott Daniel officiated, at the rites, which were conducted at 3 o'clock in the Nelson and Berger funeral parlors. Interment was in Graceland Park cemetery. Mr. Allen was run down at Warington road and Transit Avenue by a cattle truck driven by J. B. Walker, of Hornick, Ia. Mr. Allen had been visiting his son, Joseph Allen, at Onawa, and returned on the railway. He had alighted from the train a few minutes before the accident. He lived with his daughter, Mrs. T. S. Graves, 1853 Whitehouse Avenue. The injured than was rushed to the Lutheran hospital. His condition gradually became more serious. Mr. Allen was born in Pennsylvania, May 20, 1849, and moved to Iowa when he was a young man. He farmed near Onawa about 30 years and bad lived near Mapleton several years. He retired from active work 15 years ago. He was a member of Latter Day Saints church. Mrs. F. L. Randalls, 409 West Fifth, street, a daughter of Mr. Allen has been in St. Vincent's hospital five weeks as the result of an automobile accident in which she suffered a fractured leg and body bruises. Four sons and four daughters survive Mr. Allen. They are Joseph and Hiram, of Onawa, William, of Mapleton, Jacob, of Burbank, S. D., Mrs. T. S. aim, Mrs. J. J. Graves and Mrs. Randall, of Sioux City and Mrs. Sylvia Tennant, of Milwaukee, Wis.
