Hausman to Be Thursday Funeral of George Hausman, who died on Tuesday at his farm home, five miles north of Water loo, win be conducted at 2:30 p. m. Thursday at First Lutheran church, this city, following a prayer service at the home at 1:80. Rev. Henry Mueller will officiate. Burial will be in Pioneer cemetery, Bennington township. Mr. Hausman was born at Reutlinger, Wurttarburg, Germany, on Sept. 23, 1857, and received his education in the country of his birth, coming to the United States at the age of 23. Ha was in this section of Iowa five years before returning to Germany, where he spent about 12 months. On his return to America ho was married to Miss Katherine Heiser in Bremer county and shortly after they went to the farm north of Waterloo on which they still reside. Surviving are the widow and three children: Ernest J at home; Fred L, Mrs L Condon, Charles P and George W. There are also 10 grandchildren. His parents, five brothers and one sister predeceased hime. One sister, Mrs J B Becker, Waterloo, survives. The Courier Waterloo, Iowa 13 May 1925, Wed • Page 5 Rich Farmer Missing Waterloo, Oct. 31 – George Hausman, a well-known farmer whose home is seven miles north of Waterloo on the Logan Road, is missing today, and the local police have declared themselves strongly of the opinion that he has been foully dealt with. Hausman came to Waterloo yesterday afternoon, driving in on business from the farm. Early in the evening he was seen of the street by an officer. He had been drinking some but was not intoxicated. The policeman, who knew him, accosted him and told him he better leave for home. Hausmann was surrounded by a bevy of companions. He informed the officer he would leave as soon as he had taken another drink of beer. Several hour later the police found the man's team still hitched on the street. The horses were united and put in a local livery barn. This morning, Mrs. Hausman, after an all night's vigil search came to Waterloo to look for her husband.
