Description	:	He was born on February 20, 1919, at Karlsruhe, ND, a son of Frank and Regarda Heit, and he was reared and educated northeast of that community. On October 22, 1940, at Karlsruhe, he married the former Magdalen Feist. Following their marriage the couple farmed near Balfour, ND; Bergen, ND; Karlsruhe, and then farmed one year near Towner, ND. They moved to Glenburn, ND, in 1946 and farmed in that area until 1980 when they moved to Minot, ND. Read More	He was born on February 20, 1919, at Karlsruhe, ND, a son of Frank and Regarda Heit, and he was reared and educated northeast of that community. On October 22, 1940, at Karlsruhe, he married the former Magdalen Feist. Following their marriage the couple farmed near Balfour, ND; Bergen, ND; Karlsruhe, and then farmed one year near Towner, ND. They moved to Glenburn, ND, in 1946 and farmed in that area until 1980 when they moved to Minot, ND. At Glenburn, he was a member of St. Philomena Catholic Church and served as building committee chairman of the new church which was built in 1968. He had also served as a trustee and usher there for many years. In Minot, he was a former member of Little Flower Catholic Church, and at the time of his death was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus Council #1150. In Glenburn, he was a board member of both grain elevators and assisted at the time of their merger. Mr. Heit became a resident of the Americana Healthcare Center in Minot in 1990. Those who felt blessed to be a part of George's life are: wife, Magdalen; sons, James Heit and his wife Mary Ann and Edward Heit and his wife Jean; daughters, Charlene Boehmer and her husband Bruce, and Marlene Hetland; brothers, Peter Heit and Edward Heit; sisters, Katherine Schatz and Tillie Bender; half brother, Theodore (Ted) Bartsch; half sisters, Margaret Schatz and Rose Gervais; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death my his parents; son, Joseph, and a second stillborn son; brothers, Adam and Mike Heit; sister, Teresa Heit; half brothers, Joe and Jack Heit and Frank Barsch; and half sister, Lena Schaan.
