Description	:	GEORGE H. TIBBEN AUDUBON—George H. Tibben, 85, a retired farmer, died Sunday, January 27, in the Exira Care Center Nursing home at Exira. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 29, at St. John Lutheran church in Audubon with the pastor, the Rev. Douglas Young, officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove cemetery. Serving as active casketbearers were Gale Tibben, Clark Tibben, Lynn Christensen, Lee Christensen, Lyle Christensen and Darrell Whitehead. Honorary bearers were Alvie Bald, Lyle Christoffersen, Lyle David, Virgil Elsberry, Edmund Gaskill and Duane Smith. Mr. Tibben was born east of Exira in Audubon County on December 5,1899, a son of John C. and Anna Wahlert Tibben. He was baptized and confirmed in St. John Lutheran church east of Exira and attended Audubon County schools. On March 7, 1920, he was married to Laura Reimers at her parents' home east of Exira. They farmed east of Exira until they moved to their farm east of Audubon where they lived until March of 1983 when he became a resident of the Exira Care Center. He was a member of and was active in St. John Lutheran church in Audubon.
