Pneumonia Tuesday took the life of George Hofferber, 73, a farmer near Newton. He had been ill for a week and died at his home. A Russian by birth, Mr. Hofferber had lived in the Newton, Community for 23 years. Born at Frank Russia, Feb. 13, 1859. He was married to Miss Katie Leise in June 1894, and in 1905 they immigrated to this county. For a time they lived in Lincoln, NB., and later in Colorado. Besides his widow, Mr. Hofferber is survived by 14 children, a brother, a sister and 25 grandchildren. The children are, Fred, Aleck, Rachel, Rhinehart and Daniel, all of the family home, Mrs. John Kaufman and Jake Hofferber both of Billings, MT., John and Adam Hofferber both of Pompeys Pillar, MT., Mrs. George Oblander and Mrs. Richard Zeeb both of Ballantine, MT., Mrs. George Houn of Nebraska, and George Hofferber, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The sister is Mrs. Conrad Walters of Billings, MT., Fred, Alex, Raynold, Daniel and Rachel Hofferber, and Mrs. Richard Seip, all of Worden, John and Adam Hofferber of Pompeys Pillar, Conrad Hofferber of Lincoln, NB., Mrs. George Oblander of Ballantine, Mrs. George Houn of Polson, MT., Conrad Hofferber of Lincoln, NB. and George Hofferberof Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The brother, John Hofferber of Lincoln, NB. The body was brought to Smith's Funeral Home to await plans of the family.
