OBITUARY THE OSCEOLA SENTINEL Osceola, Iowa Thursday, January 3, 1901 George Howard Heston was born April 21, 1872 at Aledo, Mercer county, Ill. He came with his parents to Jackson township, Lucas county, Iowa, when he was but a small boy where he remained until the death angel came to his home and relieved him of his pain and closed his earthly voyage, December 27, 1900. His age was twenty-eight years, eight months and six days. He was at times a sufferer from kidney trouble and about ten days before his death he was afflicted with typhoid fever which proved fatal. He was engaged in farming interests and was an industrious, honest, upright and quuiet man, which made him an agreeable citizen. The funeral services were conducted by the writer at the M. E. church at Woodburn in the presence of a large audience. After the sermon was delivered from St. John, 14th chapter, and first and second verses, the services were turned over to the Odd Fellows, of which order he was a member. They bore him to his quiet resting place in the Ottawa cemetery. He leave a father and mother, C. A. and R. J. Heston, on sister, Mamie Carson; a wife, three children and a number of sympathetic friends to mourn his loss, hoping that when he closed his eyes to the beauties of this world, that he might open them to boundless joys eternal.
