Description	:	1959 ZEIMENS DIES SUDDENLY Funeral rites for George J. Zeimens, 67, who died suddenly at his home Friday afternoon, were held at 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis church with the Rev. Charles Brodersen officiating. Interment was in Laurel Hill cemetery with H. E. Harmer, Vic Walz, Paul Sonnefelt, James Turner, Carl Thiele and James Mechaley as pallbearers. Mr. Zeimens had been at the Thomas Schutt farm watching an elevator load corn into a crib. He had returned home and apparently laid down to rest. When Mrs. Zeimens returned from work about 5:45 she spoke to him and he didn't answer so she went over and spoke to him again. When she received no response she called a doctor thinking he was unconscious. On the doctor's arrival he was pronounced dead. George J. Zeimens was born May 9, 1892 at Ewing, to Mr. and Mrs. Mathew Zeimens. He came to Neligh int 1913 from Ewing and had lived here since except for a brief time spent in South Dakota. On May 1, 1916 he was married to Miss Edna Clauson of Wamego, Kansas. To this union two children, Matt and Margaret were born. Mrs. Zeimens died March 18, 1923. He was united in marriage to Catherine Malloy of Atkinson June 21, 1925 at Neligh. The couple had two children, Tommy and Mary. Besides his wife, Catherine, there are two daughters, Mrs. John Walsh of Cheyenne, Wyoming and Mrs. Kenneth Owen of South Pasadena, California; two sons, Matt of Torrington, Wyoming and Tommy of Hartington; 15 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Marie Ellis of Port Huron, Michigan and Mrs. Laura Schroeder [Schober] of Neligh. - Thank you to the Kind Assistance of Find a Grave Contributor Lizzie, 47370782, for providing George's obituary on 1 Sep 2021 as noted on 12 Jun 2022.
