From an 1899 Nance County, Nebraska, newspaper clipping file, publication date unknown,transcribed by Linda Berney: We are pained to report the sudden death of Mr. George Miller of Horse Creek after a few days sickness. Only a week ago Sunday his little girl was buried in Pleasant Valley Cemetery and last Sunday he was buried beside her. Mr. Miller leaves a wife and six small children to mourn his sudden demise. The whole neighborhood turned out to the funeral on Sunday to show their sympathy for the widow and fatherless in their irreparable loss. May God help them in their terrible loss. Mr. Miller was very energetic, and had just bought a place and was fixing a comfortable home. ~~~~ Mr. George K. Miller died very suddenly at his home on Horse Creek last Friday morning with typhoid fever and congestion of the brain. He was sick about two days. He has been a resident of this county for a number of years. Mr. Miller was about 55 years of age. He leaves a wife and six small children to mourn his loss.
