Description	:	WAKEFIELD, NEBRASKA – George Knaggs Sr., was born in Speeton, Yorkshire, England, December 26, 1832, and passed from this life at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W.F. Poff, September 24, 1918, at the age of 85 years, 8 months and 28 days, the immediate cause of his death being Bright's disease. He was married to Miss Sarah Mitchell on June 14, 1862, at Black River Falls, Wisconsin; his wife preceded him in death two years. The funeral was held at Wakefield on Friday, September 27th, at the Methodist Church, Reverend Frank Williams, local pastor, having charge, and again officiating at the interment in the Wakefield Cemetery. – Omaha paper. Mr. Knaggs will be remembered by many friends of the old settlers here having lived in Black River Falls and Wrightsville for 30 years prior to moving to Wakefield, Nebraska in 1884.
