He served until his honorable discharge on August 7, 1952. He served in both WWII and the Korean War. He married Hannah Jane McFarland on September 16, 1959. They lived in Kentucky for a few years until returning to Nebraska. They moved to Alliance in 1968. George worked for what is now Parker in Alliance until his retirement.
