Description	:	George L. Miller was born June 1, 1912, the son of Asa F. Miller and Mattie Montgomery Miller on the family farm northwest of Berwick. George was one of two sons born to this union. He grew up in the Berwick area and attended grade school at the Excelsior Grade School and Hilt Grade School until the eighth grade, and graduated from Bern High School in 1931. He was engaged as a farmer and stockman northwest of Berwick most of his life. He was united in marriage to Augustine Goldsberry. One son was born to this union. This... Read More	George L. Miller was born June 1, 1912, the son of Asa F. Miller and Mattie Montgomery Miller on the family farm northwest of Berwick. George was one of two sons born to this union. He grew up in the Berwick area and attended grade school at the Excelsior Grade School and Hilt Grade School until the eighth grade, and graduated from Bern High School in 1931. He was engaged as a farmer and stockman northwest of Berwick most of his life. He was united in marriage to Augustine Goldsberry. One son was born to this union. This marriage ended in divorce. George was then united in marriage to Marjorie Waddell. They had one son and one daughter. George worked for nine years in a print shop in Topeka for five years as a security guard at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sabetha. George died January 7, 1998, at the Sabetha Manor at the age of 85. Survivors include his wife, Marjorie of Hiawatha; two sons, Carl Miller of Appomattox, VA; George K. Miller, Eskridge; daughter, Kathy Martin, Hiawatha; brother, Lawrence R. Miller, Redmond, OR; and six grandchildren. Funeral services were held January 12, 1998 at the Popkess Mortuary Chapel in Sabetha. Burial was in the Albany Cemetery. Courier-Tribune Seneca, KS January 14, 1998 pg 4
