The services were held in Sun Prairie Baptist Church, rural Salem, and burial was in Canova Cemetery at Canova. Duck was born on Oct. 21, 1914, near Faith to George and Amelia (Keehner) Duck. The services were held in Sun Prairie Baptist Church, rural Salem, and burial was in Canova Cemetery at Canova. Duck was born on Oct. 21, 1914, near Faith to George and Amelia (Keehner) Duck. He attended rural school in Meade County and was a 4-H leader for several years. He worked with his father on the ranch until attending South Dakota State College to study airplane mechanics. He married Irma Omanson on June 3, 1941, at Hartington, Neb. They moved to Glendale, Calif., and he worked for Lockheed Aircraft in Burbank. They returned to South Dakota in February 1944. They lived on their farm for 53 years and moved into Canova in 1997. He was a member of Sun Prairie Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and an usher. He was a clerk for the Vermillion Township Board and a member of the Canova Community Club for many years. Survivors include his wife, Irma of Canova; two foster children, Brenda and Glen Crow; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a niece and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother and sister-in-law, Verdun and Josephine Duck; a sister, Zona Omanson; and two brothers-in-law, Clair and Donald Imanson.
