St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Anthon, under direction of Armstrong Funeral Service. George was born July 30, 1907, in Anthon, the son of John and Anna (Schuh) Burow. At the age of four he was adopted by his aunt and uncle, Karl and Mary Forch. He married Mildred Smith June 27, 1928, in Sioux City. He was a lifelong Anthon area resident where he farmed most of his life. He also worked for the A.S.C.S. Dept. The couple moved into Anthon in 1947. Mildred died February 21, 1994. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Anthon, served on the Anthon volunteer fire dept. for twenty-seven years and was a past school board director for Kedron Township. Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Barbara and Edward Gothier of Sioux City, two sons, Gerald and his wife Sally Forch of Oto and Roger Forch of Moville, ten grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, a son Daniel Forch, a granddaughter, Shelly L. Forch, four brothers and two sisters. Burial: 09 February 1996, Mt. St. Joseph Cemetery, Anthon, Woodbury Co., Iowa
