Description	:	Morris Gerbig, 90, Amidon, ND, died Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at the St. Luke's Home, Dickinson. Morris' funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 18, 2007, at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with Rev.'s Galen Strand and Jerry Erickson officiating with Deb Howie assisting. George Morris Gerbig was born July 27, 1917 on the family ranch at Ranger, ND. He was the son of George and Imogene (Hanson) Gerbig. He was raised in rural Billings County and then attended and graduated from Model High in Dickinson in 1937. Morris married Ella Duckwitz on May 4, 1942 at Hebron, ND. He served in the military for a short time during World War II. Morris and Ella purchased their ranch in 1947 along the Little Missouri River in southern Billings County. They have lived there and devoted their lives to family and ranching since then. About two months ago, health issues made it necessary for Morris to become a resident of St. Luke's Home in Dickinson. Morris was a 43 year member of the North Dakota Stockmen's Assoc., was recognized as the Roughrider Board Rancher of the Year, belonged to Lebanon Lutheran Church, Amidon, Prairie Senior Citizens and the Medora Grazing Assoc.. He was an avid basketball fan both as a participant and as a spectator. When he was younger, he, his brother and the neighbor boys played many baseball games. Morris is survived by his wife, Ella; their four children, Gordon (Sharon) Gerbig, Amidon, Brian (Carma) Gerbig, Dickinson, Wayne (Karen) Gerbig, Amidon, and Kathy (Kevin) Boltz, Ennis, MT; one sister, Mary Juntunen, Bowman, ND; 10 grandchildren, Danette (Richard) Holtz, Aaron Gerbig, Miles (Amanda) Gerbig, Kristin (Kyle) Kemmet, Michael (Teresa) Gerbig, Kari Gerbig, Neil (Kari) Gerbig, Jodi (Ryan) Brewer, Kim Gerbig, and Jimee Sue (TJ) Camblin; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, four year old son, Jim, two sisters, Genevieve Gerbig and Mildred Cross, and his brother John Gerbig.
