Death was due to a stroke. Mr. Diacon had been in poor health for five months. He had been a resident of Montana for 45 years, of Chouteau county 40 years. Death was due to a stroke. Mr. Diacon had been in poor health for five months. He had been a resident of Montana for 45 years, of Chouteau county 40 years. Funeral services were being held this Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Lloyd Hanley of the local Christian church officiating. Services of the Odd Fellows lodge will also be given and burial will be in Big Sandy cemetery. Mr. Diacon was born Aug. 11, 1865, in Green Bay, Wis. He moved to Iowa as a child. He married Leontine Gibbs at Onawa, Iowa, March 4, 1899. They moved to Oklahoma in 1902 and in 1906 to Red Lodge, Mont. In 1911 the Diacons homesteaded northeast of Loma. Mrs. Diacon passed away some years ago. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Robert Laulo, Fort Benton, and a son, Walter Diacon, Loma, and by ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Mr. Diacon was a member of the Fort Benton IOOF lodge. He lived for several years in Helena, but was a frequent visitor to Chouteau county. Mr. Diacon took a special interest in the 4-H baby beef work of his grandchildren and of other members of the Loma club. He was well known and highly respected by residents of the Loma and Fort Benton areas, and friends will extend their sympathy to his family. ..........
