Description	:	George Muck, eldest son of Henry and Anna Muck, was born April 1, 1883 at Coffian, Illinois. At a young age, he and his family moved to Smith County where they homesteaded. He died at the Osborne Memorial Hospital, February 3, 1964, at the age of 80 years, 10 months and 2 days. On January 23, 1919, George was married to Esa Margaret Nuss. All their married life was spent on farms near Downs. Six children were born to this union, one passing away in infancy. At a young age, he and his family moved to Smith County where they homesteaded. He died at the Osborne Memorial Hospital, February 3, 1964, at the age of 80 years, 10 months and 2 days. On January 23, 1919, George was married to Esa Margaret Nuss. All their married life was spent on farms near Downs. Six children were born to this union, one passing away in infancy. Those left to miss him are Herman Muck, Osborne, Paul Muck, Downs, Elmer Muck, Salina, Rogene Smith, Colorado Springs, Mary Ann Ritter, Iola, Kansas, also one brother, Henry Muck of Downs, three daughters-in-law, two sons-in-law, five grandsons and six granddaughters and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Esa, his parents, one brother and three sisters. He was always a hard working man and most happy when busy and with his family. Funeral services were held at the Christian Church in Downs, February 7, 1964 at 2:00 p. m. Officiating clergymen were James Sumner and Kenneth Habig. Music was furnished by Mrs. Kenneth Habig and Mrs. Dale Banks who sang "Going Down the Valley" and "In the Garden." Organist was Mrs. Bobby Brillhart. Pallbearers were all nephews of the deceased. They were were Verl McElfresh, Frank Muck, John Muck, Joe Muck, Paul Angell and Don Saunders. Interment was in Downs City Cemetery. Relatives from a distance attending funeral services for George Muck were Mr. and Mrs. Daryl Smith and family, Security, Colo., Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Muck and boys, Salina, Mr. and Mrs. Gale Ritter and girls, Iola, Delbert Nuss, Giltner, Neb., Bud Nuss, Thumbnail, Neb., Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Nuss, Sutton, Neb., Mr. and Mrs. Milton Nuss, Sutton, Neb., Dr. H.
