Mr. Nicholson had been married a little more than a year, and is survived by his young wife, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Nicholson, four brothers, and one sister. His sister is Mrs. Harry Knowlton, of this city. His brothers are: John, who is in Canada, William, Carlos and Howard, at home. He was born in Washington county but for some years had made his home in Athens county with his family. The heavy car after striking the young man Friday as he stepped from his milk wagon on East State street, passed over his body. He was crushed through the abdomen and internal injuries resulted which caused death about thirty-six hours later. On Saturday Mr. Nicholson regained consciousness several times and for many minutes talked with the members of his family. His story of the accident was that a lady, not a regular milk customer, mentioned to him to bring milk to her home Friday noon as he was driving on East State street. He stepped from the moving wagon with the milk, failing to hear the approaching machine because of the rattling milk bottles in his wagon. His story exonerated Mr. Lostro of all blame for the affair as young Nicholson made it plain that it was an unavoidable accident, and that there was not time for him to escape nor to stop car, after he stepped from the wagon. Despite all this Mr. Lostro is immeasurably shocked by the affair, suffering all of the terrible pangs known to one who has accidentally caused the death of a fellow man.
