OWENS, 50, FOUND DEAD LAST NIGHT George Owens, about 60 years old, was found dead in his room on the second floor of the building located at the southeast corner of Myrtle and Church streets, about 5 p.m. Wednesday. Coroner John Drake declared death to have been due to a cerebral hemorrhage and said this morning that no inquest would be held. Owens had probably been dead for more than a day when his body was discovered by others in the building who notified police. M. Warren Criswell, assistant chief, investigated the case for the department. Owens is survived by an uncle, Dr. Milton Painter, of Unionville, Mo. His father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. George Long, live near Ottumwa on the Rutledge road. His wife preceded him in death. The body was to be taken from the Johnson funeral chapel to Agency where short funeral services were to be held at the grave in the cemetery there at 3 p.m. today.
