George was born December 1, 1937 to William and Lillian (Kortum) Capps in Omaha. He grew up in the Fremont area. He moved to Farmington, Minnesota in his teens and graduated high school from Farmington Lakeview High School. Capps, 79 years, of Fremont, NE passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha, NE. George was born December 1, 1937 to William and Lillian (Kortum) Capps in Omaha. He grew up in the Fremont area. He moved to Farmington, Minnesota in his teens and graduated high school from Farmington Lakeview High School. After high school, he entered the United States Navy and served from April 22, 1955 to June 5, 1958. After the service, George moved back to Fremont and married Dorothy McLey on May 25, 1961 in Blair, NE. George worked as a tree trimmer most of his life, until he semi-retired from 5th Season in Fremont. After retirement, he worked for Walmart and Sears in Fremont. George loved fishing, camping, working in his yard, riding his Harley, and especially loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Fremont. He is survived by his daughters, Bonnie Teer of Omaha, Patricia Ann (Ron) Larsen of Fremont, Rita (Donald) Heller of Austin, MN, Cynthia (Darin) Morton of Fremont, Michell Schreck of Omaha, Barbara (Cory) Schnoor of Dothan, AL, Kim Capps of Fremont, Theresa Elliott of Fremont; brothers, Bobby Capps of Omaha and Billy (Carol) Capps of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Carmen Baker of Fremont; son-in-law, Larry (Josie) Harrold of Fremont; 25 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; daughters, Josie Harrold, Carmen Capps, and Cathy Honeywell; brother, Arlan Capps; and parents. Funeral Service will be 11 A.M., Thursday, May 4, 2017 at St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Fremont. The Rev. Scott Jensen will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. at the church. Burial will be at Memorial Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family." Moser Memorial Chapel, Fremont, Nebraska.
