In the year 1888, he came west where on May 23, 1892, he was united in marriage to Laura B. Peters and to them three children were born all of whom are living: Mrs. Ralph Wolfe of Osceola, Neb., Mrs. Charles Bridwell of Mankato, Kansas, and Mrs. B. R. Washburn of Cincinnati, Ohio. These with a step-daughter Mrs. Harvey Caudy, of Keystone, Nebr., and two brothers, Charles of Jennings, Kansas, and Squire of Auburn, this state, with his wife, remain to mourn his departure. Since coming west one year of his life was spent in Kansas; the remainder of the time in the vicinity of Edgar. Mr. Gillispie fell asleep, after a lingering illness of over a year, Sunday morning, May 27, 1923, aged 72 years and 6 months. Funeral services were conducted from his late home in Edgar, Monday, May 28, 1923, at 3 P.M. Charles A. Shook, minister of the Christian Church officiating, after which he was laid to rest in the Edgar Cemetery. The family wish to thank their neighbors and many friends for sickness and death of their husband their kindness showed during the and father.
