His death was due to pneumonia of which he had been ill for a week. His illness was a relapse from a previous case of pneumonia at Christmas time. Read More	G R THOMPSON DIES 1950 Retied Farmer Near Latham Succumbs to Pneumonia George R Thompson, 75 died Sunday afternoon at 3:45 at his home 3 1-2 miles north of Latham. His death was due to pneumonia of which he had been ill for a week. His illness was a relapse from a previous case of pneumonia at Christmas time. Mr Thompson was born at Linn Creek, in Camden County March 28, 1875, the son of Jacob and Rachel Carnes Thompson. When a small boy he moved with his parents to Kilever and lived in Moniteau County for the remainder of his life. He married Miss Artie Comer December 1, 1901. He was a lifelong member of the Latham Christian church and also belonged to the Woodman lodge in California. He is survived by his wife and a son, Hughie Thompson, who lives near Latham. Other survivors are two granddaughters Ladonna Sue and Connie Lou Thompson, two half sisters Mrs Walter Lane, Olean, and Mrs Harvey Richardson, Syracuse, and three half brothers, Grant and John Thompson, California, and Will Thompson, Cardin. Okla and a niece Mrs Alice Miller, California who was reared in his parents home. A brother and sister preceded him in death. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Latham Christian Church, the Rev J L Freeman officiating. Burial was in the City Cemetery in California under the direction of Bowlin funeral home. Pallbearers were: Nephews, Oliver Hughes, Ernest Thompson, John Thixton, Arnold Dunham, Dean Miller.Flowers were scattered by nieces, Mrs. Marion Shores, Mrs Ernst Thompson, Annie Maire Hughes, Mrs Arnold Dunham, Mrs Bonnie Miller, and Mrs Jack Thompson.
