MULLINS - Bootsie (George R.) Harrelson, Jr., 48, died Wednesday August 13, in a Mullins hospital after a long illness. Born in Marion County, he was a son of Mrs. Cora Bryant Harrelson and the late George Rembert Harrelson. He was associated with the Federal Crop Insurance Corp. and was a retired member of the National Guard of South Carolina. He was a member of Macedonia United Methodist Church and a Mason. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon from the chapel of Cox-Collins Funeral Home. Officiating ministers were his pastor, the Rev. Herbert C. Floyd, the Rev. Lewis E. McCormick and the Rev. Glenn Ailshie. Burial followed in Cedardale Cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mildred McDowell Harrelson; two sons, Jack K. Harrelson of Florence and Thomas M. Harrelson of Mullins; a daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Laurel) Atkinson of Mullins; two sisters, Mrs. Vermil Shepard of Mullins and Mrs. Worth Lewallen Jr. of Timmonsville; and 1 grandchild.
