The marriage of Miss Betty Jane Strailman, daughter of Mrs. Gerald Moberly, and the late Guy Strailman, to Richard Culler, son of Mrs. Vera Culler, and the late Arthur Culler, took place in the rectory of St. John's Church at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 20. The ceremony was performed by Father H. R. Jordan. The bride was attired in an aqua dress with black accessories. She wore a corsage of pink rosebuds. Her bridesmaid, Miss Evelyn Cahill, wore white and carried yellow rosebuds. Mr. Culler had Robert Cahill as best man. They spent their honeymoon in Brunswick with the bride's grandparents and at Atlantic City. They are now residing at 22 Clarke Place, Frederick. His obituary in the Frederick News-Post, Frederick, Maryland, October 10, 1974. Mr. George Richard Culler, of Rt. 2, Thurmont, husband of Betty Jane (Strailman) Culler, died Tuesday evening, October 8, at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was born in Frederick September 28, 1928, and was a son of Mrs. Vera Ann Marina Woodward, of Frederick and the late Arthur Hedges Culler. Mr. Culler was a member of the St. John's Roman Catholic Church, the Fraternal Order of Police, and the Graceham Fire Dept. He was a former member of the police departments of Thurmont, Brunswick, and Emmitsburg. At the time of his death he was employed by the State Line Detective Agency. He was a World War II veteran, serving with the U. S. Air Force. Surviving besides his wife and mother are two children, Richard Shane Culler and Kimberly Ann Culler, both at home. Two sisters, Mrs. Rose Marie Willard, of Walkersville, and Mrs. Ann Elizabeth McNeal, of Braddock, and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home Friday, October 11, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Thomas Bevans, assistant pastor of St. John's Catholic Church, officiating. Interment will be in St. Luke's Lutheran Church cemetery, Feagaville.
