Description	:	Born Johann Georg Romann in the village of Bösingen, in Freudenstadt Kreis (district), the third son of Johann Georg and Christina (Maier) Romann, he modified his name to George Roman upon immigration in 1897. He married Lydia Victoria Harrison in 1908. They had five children: Ransom G., James B., Donald E., Norma Margaret (who died young) and Norma May. He was a butcher and owned & operated the Roman Packing Co. in Norfolk.
